There are many people who use Linux and tend to have one specific problem. There MP3's only play through their two front speakers and not the rest. This is in fact normal, as most MP3's are only stereo sources. Thus by default only play through two speakers. Using Pulse Audio I will show you how to change this.
The main requirement is of cause make sure that Pulse Audio is installed and is the main default sound server installed. Once that is done, do the following:
Go to a terminal and type the following. Excluding the inverted commas:
"gedit /etc/pulse/daemon.conf"
Go down to the line that says " ;default-sample-channels = 2"
Change it so it looks like the following:
"default-sample-channels = 6"
Save and exit.
Now you should be getting audio from all of your speakers.
If you are using KDE replace gedit with Kwrite
