Camaro, WFO, scara, I am in agreement with all that you have said. Time will be the determining factor but why do I feel like I am being baited by Vista and inside is a huge hook just waiting. Perhaps it is only my paranoia but something just isn't kosher about this new OS...talker. :smoke:

well, the thing is, i am running the 5744 as my sole OS, and have forgotten it is the evil vista  i am concerned about the pricing atm, though as vendors have more compatable apps, and gpus, etc. take advantage of the enhancements in vista, i'm sure it will the MS OS of choice. also, i bet we will see the addition of most of the "missing" components some time in the near future...

I hope things work out M. Even maximum PC has been warning/crying wolf about draconion drm in Vista as well as hardware drm in cards like 9750s. I prefer to keep my pc's drm free as long as possible even if that means switching to Linux.

I am in agreement, DRM is a huge Blow to freedom.

I see this as a good thing and as a bad thing. Necessary for the continuation of unpirated software, but it might be too much for the consumer to deal with. We will have to see.

Microsoft Pulls Vista RC2 Public Download

On Monday, just two days after making Release Candidate 2 (RC2) of Windows Vista available to the public through the Customer Preview Program (CPP), Microsoft pulled the download, confounding many users who were hoping to get the last public prerelease version of the product.

But despite rumors of problems, Microsoft says its removal of RC2 was all part of the plan.

"Windows Vista RC2 was an interim release distributed for the purposes of final testing by a limited audience," a Microsoft representative told me late yesterday. "Once that limit was reached and the necessary feedback was collected from the CPP audience, Microsoft closed the site. For now, Windows Vista RC1 remains the primary version for distribution and ongoing use."

LOL!
