:cheers: Well, got Vista 64 installed as my main OS now ( :cheers: after corrupting my x86 version by trying to install every windows update there is, including ALL of the language packs...i don't think it liked that very much LOL). First thing i did was enable the admin account and delete the default one. Ahhh, nice to be x64 again, hope it lasts for a long time.

glad to hear it. i'm back in 32 bit, as my pay-for-music service don't like no x64...ah heck, after i finish my torrents, i'll reinstall. so you just use the admin account? i usually take ownership of the root drive using the standard user. next time i'll try just running w/ the admin. any issues, like having to enter a pass every time you wanna change something?

Myself, i don't use a password on Vista yet. I haven't had anything like that rear its head yet, so we'll see. I guess i will go disable the UAC too (i hate that popping up)

Use regedit and navigate to;

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

Highlight that key and look in the frame for "upperfilter." Delete that entry and reboot.
