i think its important to try the alternative properly before we dismiss it.

So far i liked Redhat 9 and i am waiting on getting SUSE and Fedora which looks nice!

I have no clue... I suggest you go for XMMS, which looks like winamp a lot, or take amaroK, which is for KDE, but imo the best mediaplayer around, also comparing it to Windows players!

As bogdan2412 pointed out it says Winamp for linux is listed there. It was Winamp 3 which was later dropped and called Wasabi Audio Player which was an open source version of Winamp.
