I see this has reared its ugly head again........... :chrisno:

If you’re a true gamer, then you use Windows, and that’s pretty much the end of the story. The upgradeability, the wide range of titles, and the community certainly are important reasons for equipping yourself with a PC. I’m not even close to being categorized as a gamer, although I used to be.

the overall expectations can be set that gaming in Vista will be ten to fifteen percent slower than in XP

OS Weekly

Hmm........ :worry:

I guess you almost have to have those 8800 cards just to make up the difference in dx9 games when you move to vista!!

If i remember correctly XP had the same troubles when it was first released... im sorry but we're not living in Circa 1996 or 2000 for that matter this is 2006 and to utilize the hardware we have today we need an OS capable of doing so... Games are getting more powerful and vibrant and it needs faster better hardware to make it look that good. 15% ?? this guy must be stupid especially since hes using an OEM computer ...real credibility right there...

I think its unfair for people to compare Vista's gaming to Xp's at the moment. What the hell? Software needs to be written to take advantage of Vista's capabilities. Give the OS 18months and then complain about it
