To be pretty honest, I prefer Debian based distros as I find them to be more stable. That is why I like Kubuntu and will install it again as soon as 7.10 offically comes out. For non Debian, I must vote for PC-Linux good distro,

dave, as an aside, what types of drives do you install ubuntu on? and your sound card: are you using onboard, or the creative you had?

I did use the onboard until Creative (finally) released beta Linux drivers for the X-Fi. I install Ubuntu on one of my non-raid 200gig Maxtor sata drives. Never tried installing it on the RAID

hehe, after joing a bunch of linux forums and spending most of the day trying to get audio on the mandriva '08 (i installed it on a sata), i decided to try fedora 7. hehe, no audio love there either, so i decided to erase it and use the tried and true mandriva spring '07 again. i installed mandriva, or so i thought, because when i rebooted, the fricken fedora loader came up (yes, no fedora os, and yes, mandriva was supposed to be there) offering no boot path to mandriva or windows (or, of course, fedora). the #1 super cool option on the mandriva spring install disc: restore the windows boot loader :scara: hehe, f'in' a tweety :chriso: saved my lily white @$$! i guess i'm just an old school/kernel kinda guy...
