Station Drivers have got their mits on some new beta Forceware drivers that were floating around. The drivers are available in both 32bit and 64bit flavours.

Quite a jump from the official 92.91 that are currently available (as well as the 95.97 Quadro certified drivers) and the reason soon becomes apparent:

NVIDIA_G80.DEV_0191.1 = "NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX"
NVIDIA_G80.DEV_0193.1 = "NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS"

These cards are going to be announced next week apparently, but things are pretty quiet about what could be the first cards to support DirectX10, we will have to wait and see.

A few places mentioned 96.61 drivers floating around with these new cards earlier this week but obviously these are even newer and apparently have support for OpenGL 2.1 as well as their fair share of bugs - use them at your own risk.

XP 32 Flavour

XP 64 Flavour

Comparison:

Latest Betas from Nvidia 92.91

OpenGL 2.03
Shading Language 1.10
2/3 Extensions Supported
0/5 Functions (which are the 5 matrix stuff)

These New Drivers.......

OpenGL 2.1
Shading Language 1.20
3/3 Extensions Supported
5/5 Functions (Matrix Stuff)

I dont find them very good. Actually they run the FEAR expansion even slower than the XX.47 drivers.
