Oh, and before the movie we played Rock Band and I broke his drum pedal :likewinmandr2: It's a known problem so they replace it for free so it's not too bad, but it still sucks... :scara:

I just picked up Rock Band tonight and find it to be alot of fun. That damn foot pedal can be tricky at times. I got the guitar down but the drums... Im not so good at. :roadrunner: Thanks for the heads up on the pedal though.

Banj, you inspired me to persuade my old dream of buying a guitar.. :scara:

Have some advices on Brand ?

Get more strat and les paul. :Laie_56: Sorry, inside joke to players....

For a beginner, I'd recommend that you get yourself an acoustic. It'll help with your technique and you'll be more likely to just "pick it up and play." There are a lot of decent makes so it mainly depends on your budget. Ibanez makes some decent acoustics for the money these days. Check the country of manufacture though before you buy. If the guitar you're looking at was made in Korea, there is a 95% chance that it was made by a company called Samick. The problem is that they then sell those guitars to other companies who, in turn, slap their name on them. So the same guitar might cost $200 with the name Washburn on it and $500 with the name Fender or Martin. For the same instrument.

Any particular type of music you'd like to learn to play? Shoot me a PM so we can chat about it.

Drums is pretty hard, or maybe it's just that we're more used to the guitar with Guitar Hero. My friends and I can nail most of the guitar tracks on expert but we play drums on medium and some songs on hard. My friend who has the game usually plays on hard and sometimes on expert though. It takes a lot of practice. It's really fun when playing with a full group of 4 people, that's what makes it different from Guitar Hero. If you want to check the rankings, we are Raoüll & Greasy Rob :roadrunner: "Greasy" Rob the Snake is the drummer, Dimanche and Raoüll are playing guitar/bass and Groover (that's my guy) is the singer.

But this is starting to get away from the thread's subject...
