Well, today Apple released their next generation of the ipod family. Along with this they have also released the next version of iTunes. Here are some pics of the new program. Head over to apple.com and download it and give it a try!! I just tried it on my 64bit computer and it loaded, which the last version of iTunes would not work on x64.

Here is the just the regular view we are all use to with a slight face lift.


Here is the new ipod managment. It is very nice and provides a lot of info about your device. At the bottom you can see how much storage you have used and by what ex. videos, music, etc.


This is a new option for those of us with video ipods, you can now download cool games for your ipod!! The games cost 5 bucks a piece.


This is also a new feature for those of us with video ipods, you can now download entire movies. For only being out one day that have a huge selection of movies. The moives run like 10 bucks a piece.


Finally, this is one of the new views allowed in iTunes. It shows the album art on the top and the time played on the top with the songs listed below it.



All in all I am very happy with the new iTunes. A backup option has also been added that I have yet to try out. One of my favorite items that was added was the ipod firmware update is now in iTunes where as before it was a seperate program to download and install. iTunes now does all of this automatically for you, which I would think would help many nontechnical people get their ipods updated and therefore cut down on support calls for apple.

Very nice chris, How do the Movies look on the iPod? can you also play them on your computer? I am not an iPod user so i dont know much about them

Well, I have you to try one of there's yet. However, I have used a program to put several of my personal movies on my ipod and yes you can play them from iTunes. However, the resoultion isn't the best in the world. The ones from iTunes, a average movie takes about 1.54gb.

hehehe, that is some wishfull thinking!! However, we have seen crazier things happen (xp running on MAC's)

Maybe a third party will make a add on to support it unofficially. That might have a decent chance of happening.

judgin by the public outcry over Itunes 7 , i dont think its all that good

Yeah, I have heard it has problems but to be honest I have it on three of my PC's and I have yet to see a single problem.

I myself, cannot stand iTunes.... I hate the program, the structure, and apple entirely lol... but because I along with millions of other americans, I have an iPod.... I use Anapod, sure it costs $30 but hell, it's worth it

does Fairuse work with that? or does Anapod do something similar (just noticed "...and other authorized computers..." )?

I dunno if fairuse works with it or not... I know the anapod is a windows explorer drag and drop program and very easy to use
