Cool. Too bad you can't use the 360 controllers with PS3 games. That hack will come eventually I'm sure.

I just bought a SCEPTRE x22wg-Gamer and an 80GB HITACHI Travelstar for my PS3. :storm:

Now I need to sell some stuff. Anybody want a 20GB PS3 hard drive?

Cool Brewin!! Yeah, I am going to replace my 60gb with a 160 soon enough! Just gotta wait for some more money first. The 60 should be plenty for now.

Hitachi just announced 1TB drives and Seagate is due soon to release theirs, make a sweet PS3 drive I'd imagine. As for spending money I won't spend a dime right now if I can help it till I find some way to have an income again, might take awhile.

The PS3 needs a 2.5" SATA drive. The 1TB Hitachi is 3.5". Not that I can afford (or need) anything close to that anyway...

You could put it in an external enclosure though. Would be nice to have a terabyte of space to copy those 50GB Blu-ray discs to... :storm:

You might want to go with a 7200RPM drive. I've heard it speeds up game load times pretty noticeably. I'll let you know if it's true in a few days.

Oh ok!! Thanks for that info!! I await your response!! However, eventually the Yellow Dog is going to be able to do DVR stuff with the PS3 they said so that is why I want a large hard drive. But if it is that big of a difference I might consider a smaller one. I guess I could always put a external drive on it for DVR purposes.

YDL 5.0 for PS3:
Posted Image

Also, Gentoo is as easy to install as YDL using the stage 4 tarball.
http://overlays.gent...tallGentooOnPS3

The only problem I have (in both YDL and Gentoo) is that the video card driver (fbdev) doesn't support my 1680x1050 resolution and text looks bad at any other resolution. Hopefully this will get fixed soon.
