Ok, seriously... http://shellcity.net/ you can load up something that totally mods the windows shell and make some interesting results, Talisman and Aston are common and popular choices, plus as the site shows, there are tons of options.

Sorry dude, but Talisman is a peace of Poo
Aston is So So..For me, best choice would be Stardock.. with their Software, everything looks quite "Cool", and not Cheap at all.. with others, your desktop will look like Old WinAmp skin.. he he
And overall, for 50$ you can't find anything better than Object Desktop pack
