Does anyone know of a pretty decent portable GPS for car that can talk to you (voice commands), has a colour screen, and is able to be mounted on the car, AND wireless ethernet to keep updated? Oh yeah, I want an affordable one, in the 500-700 range is the limit.

I have a Moto, I think I'll end up paying big bucks anyways, I think I'll pass for now on the GPS, I have a good sense of direction anyway. LOL

The wife wants one of these navigation units, and they seem to have come down in price to around $500
I am looking at the Magellan 700, TomTom GO and Garmin street pilot

http://www.gpsrack.c...mate700gps.html
http://www.thegpsstore.com/Detail-tomtom-g...tion-system.asp
http://www.thegpsstore.com/Detail-Garmin-S...-gps-system.asp

Does anyone have any experience with these or another unit?
I like the Magellan because it uses the proven software that Hertz uses in their cars.

What do u think?

I've got one friend with a PDA and has TomTom (Aireal View) on it, he really likes it
Got another friend with a Garmin (Aireal view), he likes it also.
I have a PDA with Pharos GPS (Street View) and really like it, But its really a small screen even though it gives you voice directions (the speaker is small in a PDA and hard to hear)

One thing to keep in mind is HOW are you going to use it? Hiking and camping boating? Stay away from the street GPS Do you think you will use it in only one car? Get a Kenwood Harddrive GPS (powered by garmin) with 6inch touchscreen.

All in all, they all work, but to keep up to date, you need to Update the software (roads, maps etc) which can run about 150.00 a year
