A person over at the overclock.net forums and their folding@home team has put together an amazing folding farm, Consisting of 51 nVidia 8800 series GPU's and 13 MSI P6N Diamond motherboards which each have 4 PCI Express slots for 4 video cards per board, based on calculations this folding Juggernaut can put out about 265,200PPD
Lots of boxes.
Command Center
Top Hlaf Shelf with 5 Rigs of 20 GPUs.
Bottom Half of the shelf with 3 rigs of 12 GPUs.
Closeup of Rig #1, 4x Gigabyte 8800GT 256mb / P6N-Diamond
Closeup of Rig #2, 4x MSI 8800GT 512mb / P6N-Diamond
Closeup of Rig #3, 4x Asus 8800GT 512mb / P6N-Diamond
Top 3 rigs into 1 HD Cage
(Middle Shelf) Rig #4, 4x eVGA 8800GS / P6N Diamond
(Middle Shelf) Rig #5, 4x eVGA 8800GS / P6N Diamond
Closeup of Rig #6 (#7, #8 are exactly the same) 4x eVGA 8800GS / P6N Diamond

Controversial?
Crazy world........
51 GPU's burning how many k/w's of power and energy? and we cant supply enough beds/supplies in a hospital for our needy patients, in the UK anyway, awesome it may be, in reality, it ain't.
If everyone who had a 'spare' CPU/GPU had spent that much towards the above, then we would REALLY be doing a favour for society.
I'm as 'guilty' as the next person, I'll hold my hands up, but Folding@Whatever is a waste of time and money best spent elsewhere.
My 2c.

Hi Scaramonga
First, let me be the first to agree with you.
I saw this and wondered how many kw hours this thing burns up. But you do have to admit, it is awesome seeing all this being used in such a small area.
I have learned my lesson in folding last summer when i watched my electric bill jump 200.00 a month doing hard core folding on only 4 SMP boxes and 1 PS3. I'll not do that again. BUT i generally have 2 or three simple computers running, most of them idle for most of the day, and i will allow F@H to use the cycles when i dont need them.
With that said, i still think this guy has an awesome show of power.

The concept is nice, but somewhere along the line, indeed the electric bill has been forgotten.
I somehow cannot get the folding to work properly still. And I cannot run it on my laptop (something with heating up )

WOW ! That's a folding monster...
I also like the concept, but there are indeed better ways to help who needs... And I wouldnt want to pay such eletric bill
Anyway let's keep folding as much as we can !
