Happy Birthday, Brew!!

How's Joplin doing these days? SOOO strange (sarcasm=on) that we don't get updates on the news anymore.

Most of the debris has been removed. Now it's just 7 square miles of nothing in the middle of town. Driving through it at night is very eerie. The hospital that was pushed off its foundation is being demolished now and a new one is being built right across from my parents' house. My sister is a teacher and she tells me almost all the kids are suffering from some degree of PTSD. They're trying to prepare the kids for the upcoming storm season. It's going to be tough.

Honestly, I don't know how much longer I'm going to be here. I don't want to leave my family, but I feel like I would be better off somewhere else. I'm just not sure where. I'd like to move to Boulder, CO, but it's a bit far and pretty expensive. Maybe Kansas City. Or St. Louis, with its World Champion baseball team...

I'll admit, since I appointed Strom, things have been a tad slow on the news front :)

You just had to, eh?

lol, don't ever repeat this but I think Game 6 was the best Series game of all time. 2 outs, 3-2 on Freese, yep, game over. Holy ****!! Hamilton goes yard, yep, game over. Berkman!?! Holy ****!! Freese AGAIN?!?!?!? :) I was going crazy. You know I'll always root for the NL unless it's against the Tigers. Congrats!

Sucks to hear about the kids dealing with PTSD. I hope they get the right care.

The roller coaster of emotions in that game was incredible. I think every Rangers player and fan conceded the series after Freese homered. Game 7 was just a formality.

The NL Central will be a LOT different this year. It should be interesting. By the way, pitchers and catchers reported today. :friends:

No doubt. Game 7 was going to be an afterthought after the Cards went all Kano and pulled the heart out of the Rangers.

As you know well, I'm in Tiger country and these people are going nuts. From a baseball fan's perspective, it's pretty interesting. A lineup of Jackson, Boesch, Miggy, Prince, and Avila is SCARY good. Verlander, Fister, and Scherzer/Porcello could be a great 1/2/3/4 punch. I don't really care, it's the AL with their DH bullshit.

Cubs are being run by Epstein and I like his GM hire, the guy from the Padres. The already made a steal move in getting Rizzo. Unfortunately, I've talked to no less than 20 Cub fans that think we're going to WIN IT ALL THIS YEAR because of Theo and Pujols and Fielder moving. Jeebus, no lie, most Cub fans are morons.
