Ok I stumbled across this today. After several months of not being able to use my practically brand new Creative webcam in vista because Creative is being stupid and not giving us drivers I found a work around. I have tested it and so far everything full works on my Vista Ultimate 64bit version.

1.Download the Win XP drivers for your cam to your desktop,x32 or x64.
2.Unplug webcam.
3.Right click on driver package,select "properties",select"compatibility".
4.Check box,"Run this program in compatibility mode for:" Windows XP (Service Pack 2).
5.Close "properties",right click driver package,select "Run as administrator".Let drivers install.
6.Shutdown PC,replug cam,reboot.
7.Click, Start, Control Panel, Device Manager. Scroll down to "Imaging devices". If anything is highlighted yellow, right click it and select "update driver software", select "Browse my Computer for driver software".
8.Browse to where the drivers have been installed, usually "(C".In my case (C/WCamInst. Click OK.
9.When Vista has finished updating drivers, reboot.
10. Go to creatives site and download the creative software (XP version) or you can just use the disc that came with the camera.
11. Install this software as normal.

That's it!!! I now have a fully working webcam that isn't even supported. Works with Creatives program and my skype!!

super cool, chriso! i hope you don't catch "webcam fever" from storm though: it got kinda scary when he couldn't stop modeling thongs on skype chat.

I found this also works for x64 for so many things, running the actual installer in Comp Mode, Halo 2 is an example of a game that in the form I have it gives an error that it must be installed on Win XP, but in Comp Mode it gives no errors. Good work, congrats, just don't frighten us with some freak show.
