With that, I would like to add, I want to be proud that I am a U.S. citizen.

I won't say much, as I didn't follow those elections all that much. But from what I've seen/read/heard, I'm very glad he won. To be brief, let's say my beliefs lean way to the left... No more details.

One word summarizes why it's a good thing IMO : Change.

I know, it'S the word everyone including Obama were all using, but I think it's true.

that has been gnawing at me for many years. i really want our nation to genuinely reprezent, to be a world partner and to stop the ignorance and aggressiveness we've come to be known for. it is time for a change

The USA is the only major industrialized nation in the world that DOES NOT have universal health care. Even Cuba does... What is wrong with this picture?

I'll tell you what... selfishness and greed.

It's okay to invade a sovereign nation that had not attacked us (Iraq) plus fund and wage an illegal war of occupation costing billions of dollars a month to enrich bush and cheney's cronies as they robbed the U.S. Treasury blind at the cost to the U.S. taxpayers (yes, that's you and me), but we can't fix our roads, bridges and schools, The current administration has done everything in their power to aid in the dumbing down of America.

The current administration (the Bush Crime Family) and all of its associates are traitors to the U.S. Constitution and war criminals and should be treated as such. They should all be in the Hague facing war crimes tribunals and then be imprisoned for life in Levinworth making little rocks out of big ones.

The same goes for their Democratic enablers in Congress who turned a blind eye to the crimes of said administration, including war crimes, crimes against humanity and crimes against the U.S. Constitution.

And BTW... the best thing that could have happened to the world is Obama getting elected. Perhaps now the USA can restore its good standing in the world (which the torturing traitors have pretty much destroyed) and be a true world leader again.

Good riddance to the bush/cheney Crime Syndicate... it can't happen soon enough!

And no, I will not legitimize them by capitalizing their names. The dry drunk is not MY pResident and never will be. He is only a pResident squatter in the Whitehouse.

I could go on and on about these criminals that have done everything in their power to destroy our country from within but I'll stop my rant here.

Sorry, but I just can't help myself when people start throwing around the 'socialist' label. I could very easily call the 'religious right' and the 'conservative right' Fascists.

The further to the right our country moves the closer we get to being what our country and the world fought against in WWII... NAZI Germany and Fascism. As Benito Mussolini said, and I quote: “Fascism should rightly be called Corporatism, as it is the merger of corporate and government power.”

This is exactly what the current administration has tried to put into place, following in the footsteps of Bush's grandfather Prescott Bush, who collaborated with NAZI Germany and was Hitler's banker. His banks were also convicted of collaborating with the enemy, a little known fact of history. Grandpappy Bush was also in league with a bunch of bankers including J. P. Morgan, who attempted a corporate coup of our government in the 1930s, another little known fact of history. This is all verifiable to anyone who has the curiosity to do a little (GOD forbid) research and fact finding.

I also must say prefer socialism to fascism any day... and it seems, so do all of the big corporations who sucked up that 770 billion dollars of the taxpayers money while the poor suffer and good Americans lose their houses and struggle to keep their heads above water.
