In a first-ever event, Adobe is releasing a public beta of an upcoming version of Photoshop. A beta of Photoshop CS3 beta will be posted on the Adobe Labs web site on Friday, Dec. 15. The beta is available as a Universal Binary, so runs natively on both PowerPC and Intel Macs. The final shipping release of Adobe Photoshop CS3 is planned for spring 2007.

How can I participate in the free public beta of Photoshop CS3?
Okay, here’s the scoop. The Photoshop CS3 beta is available (in English only) to any Photoshop CS2 users. So… you must own a copy of Photoshop CS2 AND have a valid serial number in order to get a Photoshop CS3 serial number. Your copy and serial number of Photoshop CS2 can come from any of the following:

Full, upgrade or education version of Photoshop CS2
Full, upgrade or education version of the entire Creative Suite Standard or Premium
Full, upgrade or education version of the Adobe Production Studio, Video Bundle, or Web Bundle.
Again, in order to make this really simple all you need is some version of Photoshop CS2 and it’s serial number.

If you do not own Photoshop CS2
If you don’t own Photoshop CS2 then you can download and try the Photoshop CS3 beta for 2 days. Essentially, you have a 2-day grace period before you have to activate the software. If you don’t activate it by the end of that 2 days then you will no longer be able to use the CS3 public beta.

Well if you have a good version of PS CS2 and you can't get CS3 to activate, you might try a little trick. Now only try this if you are legal and you can't get it to work. :moreilly:

There is a file in the directory C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS3\AMT called application.sif. Rename the file application.sif to anything you want such as application.sif_ and you should be good to go.

I'm more interested in the Paint.net Beta 2 than the Photoshop Beta. Paint.net rocks :cool2:

Downloading now ! :yahoo:

But two days is not enough time to test anything... :scara:

...Install it to a virtual machine with an undo disk so you can discard changes and use it for more than two days :bluerip: Just remember to set the host clock (VM will sync with host) to CS3 install date before you start the VM or the beta will be locked.

Why bother?

Just rename the file as above and use for ever :scara: :bluerip:
