Yeah, I already know all the bad stuff about Creative, but I just got an email that has finally caused me to say: Never again will I buy a Creative product.

You can blame me for this if you want (don't), but I just kind of assumed pretty much any electronics you buy nowadays has at least a 1 year warranty. Apparently I was incorrect.

I bought a 2gb Zen Stone Plus mp3 player back in February. It was small, 2gb, black, and I dug it. Well, it worked alright for me for quite awhile until a few days ago. All of a sudden the LED has just decided to go out. Maybe about 1/4th of it is now visible, and that just barely. I can't really navigate the menu, find songs, etc. Meaning: I can't really do anything with it that I don't remember by memory what steps to make.

So, I did all the crap that Creative tries to make you do before you actually (God forbid) contact their customer support. I downloaded their mp3 recovery tool. I reformatted the thing. Ran the recovery tool...(ya know, because there are all kinds of software out there that can MAKE AN LED SCREEN JUST START WORKING AGAIN WHEN IT'S SHOT)...aherm.

None of it worked (surprise!), so I emailed their customer service for an RMA.

your Creative Product not able to work properly.

You may go to our online RMA link:

Yeah. I'm going to pay half the cost of the friggin MP3 player plus shipping so they can fix a product that went faulty in all of 8 months. SOUNDS GREAT!!! It's not like I've been using the thing as a whiffle ball. I bought the stupid little keychain carrying case, even though I don't keep it on a keychain just to keep the sucker safe.

To hell with Creative. I sent them an email telling them to stick it in their ear.

Anyone have any good MP3 player suggestions? I don't need to watch videos. I just need an affordable, small mp3 player with 2gb capacity minimum. I'm thinking of a Sandisk Sansa Clip MP3 Player 2GB, 1 year (imagine that) parts and labor warranty...3 year warranty for like 6 bucks.

Typical 'automated' responce buddy.

Best call them up, and explain the situation, although with Creative, I wouldn't hold your breath. Still, it enables you to tell them to FU%K O££ 'personally', and does make you feel good, for a moment

I'm pretty sure they're for real about it. I looked on Newegg where I bought it and there is only a year warranty on parts/90 day warranty on labor.

I sincerely doubt they'll fix it for free...

Of course, I may just call them to go off on 'em anyway. :roadrunner:
