How long after Vista do you think it will be before testers get the next operating system alpha?

i know Microsoft are working on a new project that isn't Windows but a new operating system built from the ground up...maybe this will be it?

Anyway i believe Quarter one or two of 2007 we will see the first Alpha leak of the next OS.

Blackcomb is a server release not workstation (or at least it was, whats the status quo now?)

yea yea yea, they say its both, then server,then both again, and now they say only server release. I think it's going to be both again, and it'll be HUGE!
I think 1H 2007 maybe to early for a release/leak/anything coming out of ms...
maybe later 2007/early 2008

umm I think anything before 2009 would be over kill, seriously what kind of advancement could they make in a year unless it'll be a make off of Vista, WHICH I HOPE IT'S NOT, it'd be so ghey to have another Windows 95 Windows 98 deal, I want something new, something Spectacular and I want Blackcomb! And as of last I heard it's a server build.

i think shadow that the GUI could change again, thats the first noticeable change from 2000, XP and then Vista.

As for 2009, i think they would hope for around that or late 2008 because people will have seen the Vista beta's, seen Vista and will want to catch up.

It's odd but can you imagine linux with powerful Transparency effects, flip3d or other things?

Open-Office getting an overhaul like Office12?

ohh god, if Linux can pull something like this out of the the old red hat, they'll be god, I swear I'll drop MS Everything and go all Linux

"Blackcomb" should be the next release of Windows but I don't think it will actually be released until late 2009 or early 2010. If that is the case then early alpha builds should start appearing in middile/late 2008.

I think we wont see an alpha leak before late 2008 and a Blackomb/Vienna release before 2010. I even wonder if M$ has already a solid roadmap for it.
