I've used skype for talking to someone, but do they hava a messaging system like MSN?

I've used google-talk, and with a 99% success rate. the voice quality is excellent, and it also has a very samll footprint ( lite). The only problem with it is, you cant send files

Hmm... you spoke the code and the other pc compiled? 
I do have skype, but no google-talk, since I couldn't find a Linux version of it...

I don't use skype anymore, because it isn't very common used in my direct surrounding.

To be honest, when one only has 56k dial up skype and Google Talk are both so damn slow

They DO now have File transfer for Gtalk ..apparently no file size limit and any type of file as well as some other features listed Here

Well with using a 56k line, Google Talk defintley gives me less lag
