I think this AMD thing is limited to XP SP3
If i remember correctly, Vista SP1 had a problem where the user had to reinstall certain drivers after putting on SP1

hi all
You have to clean install vista ultimate X64 SP1, or install vista RTM and then SP1 before installing your apps.

It seems the problem is not Vista itself and AMD but SP1 and AMD. The original install didn't ever seem to have any troubles until I installed Office, Money, and a few other things and then SP1. The system is pretty much toast now. I keep trying in reinstall Ultimate x64 but it will only get past the first step and then says it cannot load the necessary files. It would be nice to have the SP1 already integrated but my copy is self activating so therefore I do not have a CD key but thanks for the thought and willingness. I will keep putzing and see what happens...
