Hehehe Dave I have a Desktop With a Wireless G+ Card (108MBPS) and Its not to bad, on close servers (300 miles) I can still get 28-40 ping (DSL)

Hi, I know you guys do this technique with a USB WiFi adapter. But I'm just wondering, could this technique, or a variation of it, be applied to laptops? I mean, without using a USB WiFi Adapter, just the one built-in INSIDE the laptop?

Any ideas are warmly appreciated.

Thanks!

Yes, you can, but you need to open up your laptop and locate the WiFi antenna inside.
Then you need to attach a cable to it that extends to the outside of your laptop. On this cable you attach the extender.

I don't think I'm that good. My problem is that I'm using an Apple MacBook, I'm not sure if I buy a USB WiFi Adapter, will that work on a Mac?

if it is "mac compatable" (drivers, OS can configure it), i don't see why not

Me neither, my answer was strictly technical, namely "yes it's possible". I have no clue how to find that internal antenna though

And yes, if the USB adapter is compatible, it will work

Hmm.. but won't it over-write the current AirPort settings? Maybe I should go to a MacForum for this, hehe. Any of you guys know of one?

You mean a wifi extender? a wifi extender doesn't need support, it just works...
