wtf? i just got my new asus monitor, and i got black bands all around the windows. this is a 1080p monitor. desktop monitor. i then decided to install the cc panel. it kicks up an error " the ccc does not work with your existing driver..." wtf, it installed the fulkin driver!!! this under server 08 r2 x64, btw. so does this mean i'm basically screwed with this pos card, or do i have to run win7 to make it work? this is bull$hit, expensive bull$it at that!!! still no way to get rid of the bands. if nvidia cards weren't so dull, i would go back to nvidia in a heatbeat. this sucks @ss!!!

can you show us what the black bands look like? You may have to set the monitor to a ratio or zoom

no such option. where would you find those? ccc does not run, as it says the driver it installs is not the proper driver. wtf? and it looks just awful. i plugged it into patty's system, and her nvidia 260 gtx found the rez and looked great. so ati either can't do 1080p (wtf?) or the ccc doesn't work in win7/server (wtf?) or i can only use win7, and maybe it will work. i hate to re install an os. i can't even really see what i'm typing because the fonts are too small. at 1080? wtf? the black borders all around. like i'm using linux or something

i ended up installing win7 ultimate x64. no way would it work in server. no way. the driver was not recognized and ccc would not start. i finally found the freakin' fix (after re installing the os)...

Attached Image: fix.png

nobody on the ati forums would say anything. i can't believe it. i finally got the scaling options going by clicking on the little arrow on the little monitor icon. this would not work in server x64. these are the 9.12 drivers/ccc app.

if you kinda look at it in a logical perspective, not many IT departments have a fat ass 52" monitor sitting on their 2008 servers running HDMI @1080p

an nvidia card would run it on detection though :cc_surrender:
i must say, after the initial hiccups, it don't look too shabby. the monitor itself is mui sexy

Nice to know that after all you're happy with your new toy ! :)

It's really very annoying when such things happen. It was the same with Windows 7 x64 and my wife's wireless card and printer Lexmark X1185. I couldn't find working drivers in any place, then I had to install the x86 version on her rig. That sucks ! :cc_surrender:
