Good to hear you're running smoothly Temper. imho, X64 is the best gaming OS available---by far the best offering from Redmond since NT. Other than the crap put out by Creative, you should find that most of your 64bit drivers are way past the buggy stage of the revs. and are now squeezing more frames with every release.

Just out of curiosity, when you update your vid./sound/chipset drivers do you use Driver Cleaner in Safe Mode before you install new ones? More than likely, cleaning out the old stuff prolly wasn't your issue but it's still good practice. Just fyi if you haven't used it before.

Hey, yeah I usually clip old drivers before I install new ones, but this was a fresh install so no need.

Btw one more question guys. Is there a particular AV you guys recommend for xp64? I've been using Norton for ages and haven't deviated, but I might be out of date on newer software.

norton? that might just be your system's issue

i use nod32, some use avast, etc.

Ahh I did a little searching around the forum and decided to go with Symantec Corporate x64

I was using Symantec Corporate 32 before.

Corp of Norton isn't so great, updates aren't nearly as often as they should be also, Nod or Eset now has Smart Security which is an all around solution that is lightweight, barely tell it is there and protects like it should with updates often, exactly the way things should be in a security app.

The milatary base nearby used Norton and stayed infected, I think you'll be happier once you look at other options, granted the price if you buy is a bit high, but it'd be hard to beat.
