I decided to try another tube integrated amp, and some efficient speakers to go with it. I remember that nice blooming bass and the sparkling highs...and then I realized I already had those in spades with my existing setup. But, too late, $1900 + down the drain...
The amp was new ($700 shipped), but the speakers were used ($900 shipped), Focal towers, which seem to be just awful squawk boxes! I then spent several $100 on different tubes, sub woofer line level converter, etc. I guess I just need to get another hobby...

NOS Brimar and Mullards in the amp signal section, looking at NOS for the power tubes...another $1,800? I don't want to go there...
