Ehm, yeah, indeed, my cat licked my monitor (she is stiraaaaange), but now, my coating is badly damaged, and the standard cleaning stuff doesn't solve it...
Anyone got any idea besides trying to get it into warranty (because I somehow have the feeling it will fail to get it there)?

an automotive plastic scratch filler (3M makes one that is just for transparent plastics. also works great on cd/dvd scratches), followed by a plastic polish? i haven't tried on a monitor screen, but it really does wonders for plastics...

It's the non-reflective coating that's damaged, not the actual plastic, at least, it seems not to be...

Kids and monitors don't mix either. Eniparadoxgma Jr. woke up this morning before I did.
By the time I woke up and got into the living room someone had decided to draw on my 24 inch LCD w/a marker.
Luckily some screen cleaner, a rag, and some elbow grease got it off before I had to sell her to gypsies.

I generally put a piece of transparency material (made for overhead projectors) on all my monitors to guard against dust and my friends Phat Fingers touching my monitor. It also makes a great sneeze guard. Just tape it onto the outside frame and you dont even know its there. 3M makes it, in all different sizes. Pop it off, clean it with windex, put it back on. simple, easy!
