Blu-Ray is a better format so it should win, HD-DVD is just old technology with a facelift.

I voted Blu-ray thinking that it will, eventually, come out ahead. However, I really don't care one way or the other. I don't own a TV that will take advantage of that kind of definition regardless of who wins. Plus, I have no intentions of buying such a TV nor the Blu-ray/HD player that would be required. I watch very little TV nor do I care for many of the movies coming out of Hollywood now. I am more that happy when I feel the urge to watch a movie to tune into AMC, TCM, or maybe SciFi. With some technology, such as HD DVD, I just don't see the need. Just because we can do something doesn't mean that we should or that it is needed. Just my thoughts for what they are worth...talker.

I see your point talker. And I totally agree. At home we've had an old 19" TV until 2 years ago and now have a 32" non-LCD non-plasma plain ordinary TV. I'm more than happy with it cause I barely even use it. I don't think a HDTV will get in that house for another ten years from now. Honestly, I have a lot of difficulty seeing the difference between normal and HD. (my friend has a HDTV) Except for the huge storage capacity of those new HD discs, I don't really see the use for them.
