nLite is a Windows instalation files customization program that allows you to customize virtualy anything in the instalation image. It is possible to remove features, add service packs, add patches and updates, remove services, include extra files to the cabinets such as themes and visual styles, disable windows file checking to drasticaly decrease install time, remove some languages packages and keyboards definitions,

I needed a non-beta x86 OS on my x64 machine to get the best of my conexant TV capture card. The idea was to use it just to record TV and related tasks, but i didnt want to waste much disk space. The solution was nLite. The striped image was only 393 MB without all the stuff i would never need. Boot time was visibily decreased what personally i love.

I think Nlite is one of the if not the best preinstallation tweaking application avaliable. I can't count on my hands how many times Nlite has been an assest to me.

A word of warning Nlite can be destructive in the wrong hands, I recommend trying out your newly created OS in a test situation

well, i went through with it, but in the end, i just have a folder full of files...how do you make a bootible cd/iso? think i have it now. decided to read the instructions...

Just click Make ISO button, the boot info of the CD / DVD will be preserved.

It should work for x64 editions of XP and 2k3.

i'm using slipped scsi drivers, and bypassing the oem boot. going to see if the last one i did will boot...

looking good! didn't want to format just yet (enjoying vista this time ), but with .iso in drive, i got the prompt to boot from it at restart thanks again vrosa, i'm having fun with nlite

It can totally mess up your machine if you don't test it. I found that out the hard way awhile back..didn't realize it had removed IE (as i pretty much only use FF) and had some interesting network problems that no one could figure out...haha. But nLite is probably better if it's used the right way.

This program is awesome! Eventhough I don't have windows on my pc, it made my dad's much faster

I just removed or tweaked what i knew wouldnt give me trouble. It is working 100%, fast ...

my text install went fine, but when it came time to boot from the hdds...i'll have to try it again.
