If you add &fmt=18 at the end of a url of a youtube video, the quality becomes better.

just what i thought: it triggers the "high quality" option, if available.

Seemed easier than adding the extra string, but then I am somewhat of a tube junkie so I knew about this a few months, say 2 maybe when it came out.

i meant it only will work if there is a higher quality option, which would have the button anyways, i think?

You can add it to any, even the ones without the button, does it make a difference...not really enough to matter I think...maybe you have a better eye for it than I do though.
