I just downloaded it and it works great.
A couple things to get use to but no major problems so far.
I'll try it out for a few days before I am sold on it.

I think I'll really miss the add-ons that Firefox gave me.


But that incognito window is cool- now Mo can cruise the porn sites without having to erase all the history!!

I can't tolerate the internet without Adblock, so I'll stick with Firefox for now.

hehe, i'm also a big adblock fan, and am having trouble coping w/ad bombardment too.

The EULA scares me a bit but over all as a BETA APPLICATION I think google hit it off well.

One thing we REALLY NEED TO KEEP IN MIND is the fact it's a BETA, it's by no means a final production. I agree that there are some things that need some fixes... but currently I protect myself with OTHER programs as well, your browser shouldn't be your only Fail safe tbh. I've learned in the past that relying on ONE program to save me isn't going to save me. That's why I use Spybot, Adaware SE, Kaspersky, and Norton... Sure it's excessive but you can't be too safe these days.

As for the Browser itself, you can disable to auto update ability, I believe someone stated they had yesterday and that was only moments after posting that the download was available.

Honestly I love the program thus far, it's liquid fast, and I'm not worried about security issues, I know it'll be fixed in due time. Some people were complaining about minor complaints of "Google Ads" but I have yet to receive one... and trust me, a lot of my time is spent online doing something. The program doesn't eat up my resources like other browsers and it does it's job... it browses the internet at super fast speeds. Speeds I hadn't seen in FF2, FF3, Opera, or even safari. The only thing I'm really loosing is my web functionality and that is very minor. My buttons don't fit my theme... ooo ahh, I really don't care. and the radio buttons and check boxes are kinda invisible, but I've found if I attempt to check or click it, it still functions properly.

I'm excited that Google is taking the steps to make this browser as best as possible, but like they said about porting, it will take time, not Days but months... it's beta, give it a chance and watch it grow... that's what I'm doing

Only my 2 cents I know it doesn't mean too much. but When I post things to the internet they are normally things I don't care about anyway... if Google wants rights to my image that is copyright stamped... we'll see about that, but if they want to use these words, my words. I give them permission. Any numb nuts on the internet can copy and paste something from someone else when it leaves my ports so, it's no extra added risk.

shadow, we all use other bug hunt apps and the like. i just prefer that the browser trap the popups/manage java/scripting and not another app(s) that i have to set up as well. i don't like other real time 'security' things running, except my av. that said, i too really am impressed with the stability and speed of chrome. we'll see in the next few months how it unfolds...

yeah I just want people to realize this ISN'T a final product it's a beta... I'm just sad at the fact everyone is throwing the program to the wolves, we need to tell google what is wrong and what needs to be fixed instead of giving up.

I'm not going back I think it's a solid operating browser but it does have things to fix. We just have to give it time to be fixed.

p.s. I hate firefox I've always looked for alternatives

hehe, yeah, i like options too. i'll use this for daily browsing, and ff for banking, etc., until i see a bit more re chrome's maturation.

Google Chrome is cool, and I do like the look and feel of it, but I like my firefox more (as of yet)...urrr sorry there Shadow Fox

I'm j/k hell I used Maxthon for EVER till Safari hit a windows platform, you like what you like. I'm just sick of hearing ppl complain about Chrome as if it's never going to change I can't stress enough that it's a beta.

HOWEVER

I must hand it to Firefox, if it weren't for the simple fact they keep pushing the limits to better web browsing... we'd probably still not have tabs ffs. I like firefox, but I don't enjoy using it is all
