baffles made, damping done: what a chore, rockwool is just so awful to handle, but wanted to get it done so i don't have to mess with it tomorrow. cut out the back panels for better binding posts, then the holes for the 10"ers, but still need to round the edges of the new baffles and glue them to the boxes...

well, the old dahlquist woofers are getting tired, so i ordered some scanspeak replacements! can't wait to hear the scanspeak drivers. i'll have to widen the woofer openings (had to buy a set of chamfer router bits to see if i can do it without destroying anything).

hey tones, it's my little room of fun, though it's a little too little now. this is my computer audio setup, which now needs a room almost if not double the 12'x12' it resides in atm...

Just knock a 500sq. ft. add on to the house. That should do the trick for another year. :giggle:

dave, i ended up tossing the old dahlquist woofer boxes and reusing the klipsch boxes with new baffles for the scanspeaks, and now no longer need subs! freakin awesome. went from sealed .65 to 1.85 ft3 w/vents on the woofers: sweet indeed. got an f6 of 32 hz. @85db can play dubstep with the tube amp and the windows shake lol!

well, i was tempted...i really wanted to go tube preamp/solid state power amp (loud but with that tubey super soundstage and SS muscle). after a low ball ebay bid i won a 1978 mits A15DC dual mono block solid state power amp and found a real/power rectified via tubes all tube pre, out of canada...this is an expensive hobby...

well, i done gone full circle...my yaqin mc-10L had an issue re the front right channel power tube bias pot go south...decided to try a ss amp/tube preamp:
picked up a musical fidelity a3cr power amp and an audio mirror t-61.
wow is all i can say. coupled with my 'tall-quists' (dahlquist DQ-12 speakers with the woofer cabs replaced with ones three times the interior volume, ported, and with scanspeak substitute drivers). chills, total chill out audio chills...
