like the title says. win7 pro x64, and every once in a while, aero shuts down. this was with teh winders driver, and with the latest from nvidia. i used to get this during the betas/rc's, but now to see it happen in the rtm (i didn't notice this behavior in server though...). i have riva tuner running the 260gtx fan at 80% all the time to keep the thing cool, but it still persists. time for ati?

How much RAM you gots?

Mine crashes when my RAM goes over 6.5GB nowadays.
It's a driver issue, try downgrading your nVidia drivers to the early 180 series, solved the problem for me with high RAM thingy's

I'd be checking the 'Event Viewer' to get a clue on whats causing the problem MO.

Failing that, I'd do a 'Driver Sweeper' run to clear all Nvidia GPU related material, and shove the good old reliable, and last proper working driver release, 186.18 driver set on, the 19x.xx sets are all borked and best avoided :)

Just a pity your ATI is a little left out when it comes to excellent games like the awesome Batman Arkham Asylum. No PhysX effects for you lol :)

i'll stumble through here until the dx11 cards are out. i was looking at a comparison of ati and nvidia drivers for games and such, and ati was besting nvidia. i'll try driver cleaner (driver sweeper?) to see if it does the trick.
