i'll give it another try. i would usually go with nod or kav, but the latest releases of these clogged up any install/burn things i would be doing. just crazy. so you weren't put off by the 481 megs plus the 13+ for symantec update (495 megs...)? i get a little over two bars on boot. i'll keep an eye on that...

NOD32 all the way :chriso: :roadrunner:

About

It ain't all that bad once you have it configured properly. Threatsense, HTTP checking, Scan on boot/shutdown, Scan on file creation & network - All disabled.

Used it for years, full copy on my server (latest) :)

LOL...Why do I suddenly feel like I'm going to be doing a 3 way AV comparison on WS2k08??? Good thing I have a fresh install image of ws2k08 cuz unless things have changed once Symantec pollutes your registry, it stays polluted after the uninstall. :roadrunner:

hehe, nod32 version 2 is up and running, and NO lag! hehe. it prompted for server acceptance (disable "imon"), and installed and is updating, albeit a bit faster than symantec...hahaha. this is the "good" version of nod (x64): no bloat :roadrunner:
edit: the system boots as if there is no av installed: in other words, very fast. this is what i wanted: nod (previous version, non multi), and it to work in server.

Ummm...whats hyper -v??? :) I thought about Clamwin but it has no real time protection. I do like visiting the darker side of the net on occasion so that is a must. :chriso:

I'm currently in Vista because my virtual machines kept locking up in Server despite backing off the clock 150mhz. :roadrunner: They have been stable all day since the switch back.. I'll probably have to reinstall the virtual OS' in Server instead of using the ones installed when in Vista. I want my quad running at least 3.6.
