Hi, today I had a problem with Windows Vista..
The System was up for quite a while, Everything was running just fine, when suddenly, the strange things started to happen.. Most of my Icons practically disappeared/changed..
Well i thought about Icon cache and decided to reboot the system for/to clean it up..
But that was just time wasting, after reboot, icons still stayed "corrupted"
So i deleted the cache manually, and decided to post here a quick tip for you on how to do it (if you experiencing the same prob.)
1. Run Command Promt (start-run-cmd), and enter the following line in there..:
cd \users\***\appdata\local
Where "***" your user accounts name (James for example)
..Leave CMD open.. and proceed to 2nd "Step"
2. Now start "Task Manager" (Ctrl+Alt+Del), switch to "processes tab" and Kill process called "explorer.exe"
3. Now when you have Windows Explorer closed,
Alt+Tab back to Command Promt, and Enter the following line in there
attrib –h IconCache.db
/then/
del IconCache.db
/and finally/
start explorer
Now icons should get back to normal again
Thank you
