they are here...a very different animal indeed. bass is big (surprise!), and big warm mids, voices are super. not as 'bright' as i'm used to, but much more 'natural' in reproduction of music across the board.

i love this album from al-pha-x:gravity! it's addictive and a good mood enhancement. put together a dual 10" sub box for the magggies...and an nht active crossover. 'brill, as scara would say!

the peerless were duds in that they don't 'slam': they are more like a less responsive woofer in sub clothing. im now looking at the eminence lab 15 drivers. great sale on ebay atm. they take big boxes, but you can just imagine the slam...

the sonotubes are neat. if i don't go with the 15" drivers, i'll get some dayton hf drivers for them and see how that goes.

box is finished, but i can't decide on a top. what was to be a simple box got out of hand. my first veneer job, some oak, some...i'll post the box up when i put the driver in and haul it home (7.4 cubic feet interior...big box!). got the hurricane nuts and hex head bolts for mounting today. i'll have to spring for some tall clamps to finish the trim/top, but at least i can test it out in its present state.
