The format war is over and Blu-ray emerged victorious. Now what?

Upconverting DVD player is cool for now. It actually works pretty well on 720p/1080i.

I dunno.. Probably will not, just buy a BR-RW Drive for PC, and or will download BR DivX Compressed HD content..

OK, so I will explain my No Other. I have no need of the thing. I don't use the 2 DVD drives that I have now. I never watch a DVD and all that I burn are CDRs so I really have no need for the HD thingy. And my need for bragging rights has long passed...talker. :cc_surrender:

Looks like my PS3 turned out to be a pretty good investment. I got a Folder for F@H, and I got a Blu-ray player in the deal too! :cc_surrender: not to mention a media player

It took me a very long time before upgrading from VHS to DVD, and it will take as much time to upgrade to BD. When DVD's will become close to unavailable...

Don't you mean 'Ate' tracks? I remember my roadpacking  years and seeing 'em strung out on the side of the highway all the time... people had the tendency to pitch 'em out the window after they got 'ate' by their tape decks... :cc_surrender:

I'm upgrading all my players and PC's to HD DVD, in my town the prices have gone down by at least 70%! I've already snapped up all my favourite films in HD DVD format.

I voted...No. DVD is good enough. I suppose when the Blu-rays are down to $35 I'll buy one if I'm doing a new build. No need here.

same here. can't justify the prices atm, plus the present bl drives are reported to be a bit slow and buggy, along with the price of blank media...
