Issue #5 February 2006
What a great new year! We here at x64Bit.net are about to break the 250 user mark. It is hard to believe that x64Bit is growing so nicely.
Each January brings us another Consumer Electronics Show live from Las Vegas. In the past month, companies from around the world gathered in the glittering city of Las Vegas to show off thier latest gadgets. The annual Consumer Electronics Show is one of the biggest and best events in the technology world.
Last year the hype at CES was all about who had the largest plasma TV. This year the hype at CES is all about next generation gaming. While many companies sported their next generation games, I like Madden NFL 2006 NexGen the best. Every face in the crowd follows Brett Favre as he runs for the QB slide for the game winning touchdown.
CNet’s top rated CES gadget is the Creative Zen Vision:M MP3 player. The new product by Creative Labs is just a little bit thicker (.7 inches thick instead of the iPod’s .4 inch thickness) than its rivaling Apple iPod, but it has a brighter screen and longer battery life. Along with the bright screen comes the player’s ability to play almost any video format. How much better is the battery life? This little iPod killer can play four hours of action packed videos compared to the iPod’s two hour battery life.
Well that’s all for this edition of the X-Newsletter. Come and join us in our discussions of CES and the year’s new electronics. Are you in need of a Windows Live Messenger beta invitation? If so send a personal message to xCIAx from the board. The first 14 people to respond to this limited time offer will be using the great new WLM. Don’t forget to show off your February desktop in our Desktops thread under the Customization section!
