When I heard about an alpha of Firefox 2.0 dubbed Bon Echo. I was not intersted in downloading it. Then after about a week or so I decided why not try it. Please note this software is alpha and should only be used for testing purposes only.
First of all the installation screen has not changed from previous Firefox builds. Except for the obvious use of the codename Bon Echo.

First glances shows that the browsers GUI has hardly changed, although since this is an early preview of Firefox 2.0 perhaps the default theme will be changed in later previews.

A closer look reveals a new addition, this new feature to Firefox is called Places. Now with Places you can browse all your bookmarks easier and view your full browsing history. Places can be started by clicking the little lightning bolt with a small magnifying glass covering it in the bottom left corner of Bon Echo. Places is a much needed addition to Firefox

Previous themes, plugins for either Firefox 1.0+ or 1.5 do not always work properly. So keep your installations of Firefox seperate from each other. Do not upgrade from the one to the other.
Performance wise I found Bon Echo on my system has less memory leaks and honestly runs better than Firefox 1.5.1 does. For a piece of software that is alpha I think if this is the alpha version of the next Firefox then the final product I am sure will be a real winner.
For an alpha product I give this 7/10

Features wise nothing to report on except for the Places. As for the white in the images (WTF happened there) I will fix that

The new things are really just the bug fixes. I actually find it to be a lot more stable than the current "stable" build. You could always add ad-block to it if you want an addon.

hopefully as well as stability we can see some new innovative ideas, i mean i like stability, but features are always handy too!
