i gave patty my trusty $1000 24" dell last year, as it didn't have hdcp/hdmi, but now i really miss the clarity of text and the desktop real estate that 1920x1200/16:10 brings.
looking at dell and hp, even asus. i don't game, so don't need gamer monitor. i want something that has natural color, i'd go old school backlight over led to get it.
any suggestions?
24" to 27" is what i want.

i was looking at those. i don't think the wide color gamut is for me though, and i can get the u2412m for $300, as opposed to over $500 for the 2410. i dunno...
the 2410 is real sweet...

checked more monitors out on ebay...made an offer on this:

less aggressive coating, taller lut, and i love the red stripe :)

that was quick...just 'won' this for $300:

while i love dell monitors, and especially the u series, i had to have the asus, as it matches my gamer case and my other asus stuff...

:)

Most of these issues are fixed in the Dell now, they tested on revision A00, I'm on revision A02 :)

I'm quite happy with my HD6870, but if you want more power (and spend up money) go for the HD 6990 :scara:

well. the 6970 fell through, so i found a reference 6950 2gb that i can turn into a 6970 (the nvidia card has to be set to full power 24/7, otherwise it 'blacks out' ever so often :) )
