Rafael from WithinWindows has just released a patch to patch the Windows 7 build(6801) released at the recent PDC 2008 in Los Angeles. This build is the build that Microsoft handed out at the event, some how Rafael has found a way, or made a way to unlock some new features from the build shown at the conference. It’s only available for 32 bit systems(x86) the version for the 64 bit system will be released tomorrow. The files it patches are not automatically backed up so it’s highly recommend that you back up these files before they are patched! I know one feature that you all wanted is the new taskbar, yes it’s unlocked in this! That files the are patched and need to be backed up are below:

* \Windows\Explorer.exe
* \Windows\System32\wisptis.exe
* \Windows\System32\ieframe.dll
* \Windows\System32\shell32.dll
* \Windows\System32\stobject.dll
* \Windows\System32\TabletPC.cpl
* \Windows\System32\themecpl.dll
* \Windows\System32\themeui.dll
* \Windows\System32\powercfg.cpl

is there an 6956 version?

btw, what's the difference with the current bar?
Or does 6956 already run this one?

Excellent (I would now really like to post a mr. Burns smiley here :P )

Ah well, Win7 rules, I'm even saving money.

On a more serious note, I love the new systembar!

Actually, since I have to use some windows-specific software for job (MS Visual Studio) and school (Matlab/LABview/MS Visual Studio/AutoCAD and some more) yes, I am, but not as userinterface, but for just the work, which sadly means I am in Windows most of the time.

Again, Windows7 beta is the first time I feel 'home' in an MS OS! really!

Awww man, I have to get all that software running in Linux soon! before I loose my status as Linux expert! (I won't, still running Linux, just not running into issues anymore)
