It shouldn't have, imho, because it's not english. But the game moved on.

We should either go back or, from now on, English only as the initial rule was set. Just a fun little game, we should all weigh in on it.

I'm no C++ whiz but I think it's not an acryonym, just a command. Like C Output=COUT. Brew or Sphere could tell us. I think it's a word in the same way that fdisk is a word or Anon is a word. One is a contraction without punctuation the other is a slang word for anonymous. But both are part of the English lexicon (at least, mostly---they're defined anyway).

Acronyms shouldn't count because they don't mean anything. The letters are stand-ins for proper nouns. Contractions have meaning though. They're words in the same way as the contraction that started this sentence----it's a 6 letter word that means, 'they are.' It's a word.

I'm no English expert though and I have no dog in this fight so we should, again, all vote in. In my demented brain, chkdisk is an english word, DOS is not.

I think slang should be judged by you admins and mods. It's your call. My opinion is that 'yanks' is a word, 'jones' is a word (Got a basketball jones! Basketball jones....), and 'Gat' is a word. They would count because they are all used extensively in English speaking cultures and can be defined. Acronyms, proper nouns, etc., should not be included.
