lol
I liked it
Spade, that is.
I've been reluctant to upgrade to 7 after the last burn apple handed me, but if chriso says it works I'll have to give it a try. (now wheres my backup stuff?) hehe

Back to iTunes 7
Seems to work fine. If you podcast the Update button has moved to the bottom and is now called Refresh (duh). I'm just glad it's 64-bit again. I was worried for the future about compatability issues popping up with with my old ver. No more!

arrrrggh
I found another change. I don't like this. You can not put podcasts in your library. If you made a playlist of your podcasts as in a series of chapters you can only rightclick the podcast to have new ones put in a playlist. And if you prefer to have your podcasts jumbled in big playlist with other shows, music, etc for an all day of hands-free (which is what I do) well you can't. It's not in the library and you can't "add file" or "add folder".
Like I said, "arrrggh"

And more about iTunes 7. I have checked into a number of free alternatives. ephpod, vpod, linux for iPod and on. They just are not up to snuff (yet). vPod looks promising. very simple, but will not allow for editing my volumes of current playlists. So when it comes right down to it - so far - iTunes is the best.
Oh well. lol

OK I really didn't want to turn this into a bluerip-iTunes blog, but just one more thing...
I decided it was just too much hassle to work around the iTunes 7 issues that I have
so after about a week I decided to go back to ver. 6.0.4.2 (the last 64-bit compatible).
However I found that the new (ver. 7) iTunes Library.itl is not compatible. So, yeah!, I
was screwed at that point. If I started from scratch it would be one thing, but with nearly 4gigs
loaded and playlists from A to I, well I'd rather jab myself with a pencil.
So the moral of this story is back up your library by going to My Music\iTunes\ where you will find the iTunes Library.itl & iTunes Music Library.xml files to make copies of. BTW a restore point will not take care of it.
I hope you do better than I did.

I like I-tunes for downloading music to my ipod. You can, though, just watch anything on You Tube, Hulu, CBS, and many other sites. So, I just use it for my music. Ican go to other websites for movie and TV entertainment---AND IT'S FREE!! (the best thing)
(see Star Trek and all the "older" TV show and movies on You Tube---they have a million! And it's so easy to add to your own playlist or share with others)
JUST A SUGGESTION!!
