as the suggests I'm a 7.1 speaker system for my computer the motherboard has support for it, but seeing as I have only ever known those 2 friendly speaking that let's me hear stereo thee are some thing that I'd like carificarion on, like what does a subwoofer do, why would I need it?

Also in my searching I found out about audio decoders ( http://www.creative.com/products/product.a...36&product=9468 ) I was wondering what this is used for and why/if I would need this.

very expensive way of getting 7.1, just by 5.1 or 7.1 speakers and plug them in to your motherboard
